An Indian restaurant has been destroyed by a large suspicious fire that started in the kitchen.
Thirty firefighters were sent to the blaze at Madras Cottage in Whitburn, West Lothian, which broke out at around 4am on Friday.
Crews had to get into the building through a roof as the flames destroyed the restaurant and a flat above it.
The fire was brought under control by 7am and investigators are now trying to find out the cause.
A spokeswoman from Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said: "When the crews arrived the building was well alight.
"The fire started in the rear kitchen of the restaurant. There has been no message of anybody being inside the building."
No one was injured in the blaze. East and West Main Street and Armadale Road in Whitburn were closed while firefighters fought the flames but they re-opened at around 7am.
Lothian and Borders Police are treating the fire as suspicious and appealing for witnesses.
A police spokesman said: "We want to speak to anyone who was in the area of East Main Street in Whitburn in the early hours of this morning, who noticed any suspicious activity there.
"Anyone else who has any other information that can assist our inquiries should also get in touch."
Anyone with any information should contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
