A man has been charged with witness intimidation in a reopened murder case.
Last month, police started to reinvestigate the killing of Steven Brown almost 14 years ago.
The 35-year-old was found in a field near Elphinstone, Tranent on the morning on Sunday February 21, 1999. He had been beaten and stabbed several times before he was discovered.
Witnesses have been interviewed again and door-to-door enquiries have been carried out since the case was reopened.
Lothian and Borders Police said they have arrested and charged a 39-year-old man with witness intimidation. He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
The arrest comes a day after officers said they had received complaints about pressure put on witnesses.
