Heroin worth more than £132,000 was recovered along with cocaine valued at £40,000 and cannabis worth around £1800 after raids at two properties in Wardieburn Place in the north of Edinburgh on Wednesday. A three-figure sum of cash was also seized.

A 21-year-old man and three women aged 20, 23 and 54 are to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday charged with drug offences.

Detective inspector Alan O’Brien said: "Once again, our communities have come forward with vital information relating to drug crime resulting in Wednesday’s enforcement activity, which saw the recovery of large quantities of harmful substances.

"I would like to thank the public for their continued support and would ask that anyone with information about ongoing criminal activity in their area contacts police immediately.

"Rest assured, we will utilise all resources at our disposal to investigate any reports of crime and bring those responsible to justice."
