FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Pilots at German flagship carrier Lufthansa plan a fresh four-day work stoppage from April 13 after failing again to reach an agreement over pay and job security, a union said on Monday.

The pilots had already gone on strike last month, causing about 2,000 flight cancellations and leaving thousands of travellers stranded around the world.

At the urging of a German labour judge, pilots' union Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) had suspended the stoppage after only one of four planned days to resume talks with Lufthansa.

The pilots' move comes as a strike by cabin crew at rival British Airways disrupts European air travel.

Shares of Lufthansa were down 0.8 percent at 12.185 euros by 1206 GMT, while the STOXX Europe 600 Travel & Leisure index <.SXTP> was down 1.2 percent.
